The Layers of Sandwich History

Through data gathering and researching sandwiches’ historical origin stories, the humble two-piece bread proofed to be more than just a delicious lunch or quick dinner that we know of today.

Starting from the first hamburger in 1800s, to club sandwiches, to avocado toasts in 2016, sandwiches have many interpretations that served the needs of its generation. From there, information of sandwich preferences was extracted to create interesting data sets.
